Our Governors
Governor Documents
The minutes of governing body meetings are public documents. If you wish to see the minutes of a meeting, please request this via the school office: school@chapelend-inf.waltham.sch.uk.
The Governors of Chapel End Infant School and Early Years Centre are a committed group of volunteers who work with the Head Teacher to ensure that the school runs to the highest standards and promotes academic achievement and social development for every pupil.
Our role is to make sure the school complies with relevant legislation; meets local and national educational targets; spends its budget wisely; keeps everybody safe; and delivers a broad and balanced curriculum for the benefit of all children.
We do not get involved in the day to day running of the school. However, we do set the school’s strategic direction, acting as a ‘critical friend’ to help the school maintain and improve educational standards. We do this by taking an active role in the school, not only attending meetings but also by visiting the school to see it in action. We also listen to the views of teachers, pupils and parents/carers and other relevant people.
The current governing body is made up of a combination of parents, staff, members of the local community and appointments by the Local Authority. We come from a range of backgrounds, including education, finance, human resources and public administration. We each use knowledge from our individual experiences, as well as our knowledge of the school, to help the school achieve the standards of excellence we are all striving for.
If you want to contact us, then we would be happy to hear from you. Please contact us through the school office or by email on school@chapelend-inf.waltham.sch.uk
