Summer Fete and International Celebrations 7th July 2017

We had a fantastic turn out for our Summer Fete and International Celebrations. It was great to see children with their families in their National Dress and tasting all the wonderful food from around the world. As I walked around and joined in the fun it was great to experience the real sense of community that we have built together. I hope you all enjoyed the event and I am extremely pleased to inform you that we raised £760.08. This money raised will go towards providing extra learning resources for the children. Thank you to all the parent helpers and staff for giving up your time, as without this support, events like this cannot take place.

Sports Day – 6th July 2017

Thank you to all the parents who came along to help, and cheer the children on, in our first ever sports day on the Feel Good Centre athletics track. There were hurdles, relay and sprint races, a standing long jump and javelin event as well as an egg and spoon race, sack race and penalty shootout. The children enjoyed all the events and particularly enjoyed running on the wonderful track. To finish the day Mr Court encouraged the adults to test the track in a series of sprint races and the speed with which the adults hurtled down the track was truly impressive! The day ran smoothly largely due to the help and support we received from Rushcroft School Sports Leaders. These sports leaders help to run sports events across the borough for both KS1 and KS2 events. The sports day was a wonderful way to celebrate and put into practice the skills we have been learning in school throughout the year. Well done, everyone and well done to the yellow team who were the overall winners!

Football Festival – 9th June 2017

12 Year 1 & 12 Year 2 children attended a Football Competition arranged by the Waltham Forest School Sports Network. The competition was organised ‘World Cup style’, where the children played in groups and the winner of each group went on to play in the quarter finals.
There were 30 teams in the tournament, representing 22 schools and around 240 Year 1 and 2 pupils played football on the day.
The semi-finals were eventually contested by the Chapel End Year 2 Team, Mission Grove, Mayville and Hillyfield. Our Year 2 team sadly lost to Mayville in the final but still came home with amazing silver medals.
All children attending were awarded certificates and behaved extremely well on the day.
The year 1 team played really well against older year 2 teams and only narrowly missed going to the quarter finals themselves.

Well done to all the children! We may have some future professionals in our midst.

Family Man Day 8th June 2017

It was great to see so many of the children’s male role models in school on Thursday for our Family Man Day. We have had fantastic feed back from you on how you all enjoyed learning and being creative with the children. Many pieces of art were created for the up and coming art trial exhibition which will be held on 15th June. The school kitchen staff were also praised for the school dinners being tasty and with a variety of dishes. Thank you for making this day enjoyable for you and your children and we hope to repeat this next academic year.

ART Trail 2017

On the 15th June we celebrated having an Art Trial exhibition here at Chapel End Infants!

Thank you to all the parents and carers who came out to see the wonderful work that our pupils produced.

Some of the amazing structures that were made were, Houses of Parliament, The Shard, Big Ben, Nelsons Column and a selection of Tudor Houses. A big thank you to Ethan’s mum, Simona who helped the school to put these masterpieces together and to all the family men who contributed to the making of them
